I love tiny tattoos, but I'd be afraid the ink would eventually bleed and blur out the details. Does anyone know if there have been advances in ink/technique lately that might prevent this?

There is a reason you dont see a "collector" with such styles: it just doesnt last! All these tattoos depicted here are pre-healing. They wont look like this three weeks later ant not to mention a year later! Dont get me wrong, these artists are magicians! But skin just doesnt work like canvas...

Probably true. I got a watercolor one last year. I figure I'm 44 years old. And by the time it looks bad I won't care or I'll get it touched up.

Yes tattoos hurts. Some areas hurt more that others. I have several tattoos and think the ear lobe would be pretty painless. Feet and rib cage hurts the most in my opinion.

This is probably bending the rules and still not acceptable for your religious beliefs, but you could try the fake temporary tattoos. They wash off with soap and water and only last a day or two. Fun way to try it out.
