Company Hilariously Mocks Stupid Client Requests, Shows What Happens When You Do Everything They Ask
Graphic designers and their clients will never understand each other. And that’s a good thing. I mean, let’s face it, designers have a way bigger understanding of their craft and (usually) the more freedom brands give them, the better the results of their collaborations are. A recent tweet by the Japanese brand of instant noodles called Nissin is a perfect example of the terrible visual disaster that happens when a designer follows through with every single client request.
The tweet included an image for their ad campaign, accompanied by a message, “Please allow us a moment while we fix some mistakes brought up by the client. They say it’s not cheesy enough…” The funny ad then received numerous instructions, explaining every detail that had to be “improved.” The only thing funnier than the absurd notes is the final photo editing result you definitely have to see. Scroll down to check out what the hell designers have to go through when complying with their customers’ photo ideas!

This casual-looking photo started a heavy storm on the Japanese side of Twitter
It was recently tweeted by a Japanese company called Nissin Cup Noodles
They, however, decided the picture needed improvements, “Please allow us a moment while we fix some mistakes brought up by the client. They say it’s not cheesy enough…”
Their first edits led to this, but it clearly wasn’t cool enough
So more perfectly reasonable requests were made
And absurd took complete control of the situation
Finally, we present to you the ad that every brand dreams about but not a single designer would like to produce

Share on FacebookI have to agree with the client, If I were going through a magazine I would easily pass the first one without a notice, the final one definitely stands out and leaves a goofy but positive association with the product.
my concern is different: why milk seafood noodles with cheese?! what combination is that?!
I have a friend who lives in Japan and she says that yes...it's a thing. Japanese BP readers where you at?
Load More Replies...Nissen Cup Noodle is famous for whacko ads. They only ever DO whacko adds. It's their brand. (Go find them on youTube). So you, Bored Panda, have been perfectly trolled. You believed it. SUCKERED!!!
They weren't suckered at all. I'm sure the people at BP are savvy enough to know that this is clearly tongue in cheek. Even though Nissin is sold worldwide maybe they want to expand their market so they're intentionally doing this type of viral internet marketing. Perhaps Bored Panda is being paid to spread the story as well. Hey, you never know.
Load More Replies...This looks like guerilla marketing to me, i.e. very intentional by the advertising company.
It probably is. But it's funny because people can definitely relate. It's probably based on personal experience with actual crazy clients.
Load More Replies...To be honest the first face looks weird as well, what's with that mouth?
Load More Replies...Yesterday, I watched a compilation of Japanese commercials... some for this very company. The finished product of this fits right in with them.
I'm so distracted with everything that's going on I don't know what type of instant noodle they're trying to sell - is it seafood flavoring with milk?!
Can you make it feel like by looking straightforwardly know is cheese?" Guess it also has something to do with cheese, lol.
Load More Replies...Let's not forget that apart from all the nonsense, there were actual good pieces of advice there. Like, smiling, maybe looking at the product, etc. And there's a hell of a lot of background there, if they don't advertise the grass or buildings as well, then the product shoulg be more in focus.
so many wrongs, but it kind of works!! I still wouldn't buy them though!
The final variant is 9000 times better than the original. And it still has a plenty of room for fun and rubbish.
A clever viral marketing campaign. I actually believed the story at first until the second round of requests.
to be honest the first submission was kind a too plain and boring, plus the hand tilted way to much and fingers obstructing product visibility, the altered version no doubt is weird, but at least it is not plain and boring.
as a designer i found this process to be absolutely absurd yet incredibly hilarious! this noodle company is run by chimpanzees on meth lol. the final product is a work of art, give the client what they want and charge them handsomely for every edit, make that money and keep this piece out of their portfolio
This is funny, but seems pretty clearly fake... "Even alien also jealous about the existence of our product"? I don't think so...
Why on earth did they want a digital brain lol... I'm dying laughing over here XD
well.. de fainulle version does kaught my eye in kontrast tu wot deez pro designers thinke is "best" i mean, jas look at dat produk Owo milk... effin.. seafood flavored kup ramen and hir u wanna show peeps sumthin as bland as de furst version owO? eS eM eytcH
The first version is trash though. Final product is weird but at least it has more to it than a random nonplussed girl holding barely visible noodle cup with a gloomy backdrop.
i hate this brand of ramin.. i like maruchan way better.. they need to put more effort in improving the taste of the product than making crazy ad demands
I feel bad... because a few years ago I treated my website developer team the same way. Lots of crazy and stupid ideas in my head that simply cannot be fulfilled or satisfied. I mean, they can if they want to but it will turns out like s**t (just like the above example).
i feel like the last image IS A BETTER AD ANYWAY its very 90s. and they were the golden age of memorable ads
Well except for the freaky look of her eyes, I love the outcome, it's completely bonkers 8) If this is a real story, the designer is genius.
It is obviously a joke. Anyway, I like the final result, especially the cow-panda... only the creepy kids are horrible and dont match anything in terms of colour and style :-/ And the girl is still not looking at the product....
can't stop laughing....the client is always right even they are wrong!
I do prefer the cheesy version :) Her face was stiff and the product was invisible. If this whole thing was made on purpose, then it is brilliant :) xxx

When I saw the first pic, I liked it. After the last one, I want some of these noodles. It totally works.
We architects go through exactly the same thing, only worse, because clients want to make changes when te project is already under construction. Then the b***h about the costs going up and the extra time it takes to add their requested changes. *Sigh*
I HATE those clients aren't involved in the creative process and then suddenly after receiving the preview they had other ideas making the time of post production longer.
Sorry to ruin it for you, but THIS whole thing is The Advertisement. Now you know everything about the product and the extra cheese and so on. Good job of the agency, but not that funny.
So, um, if this is real, I'm guessing the design studio will have a tough time getting work, since they decided to make fun of the people who hire them.
Well, just think of the labeling of skiwear back in the 80's and that hideously dangerous "ski look" wet look skiwear that many people died wearing from sliding down the steep slopes they shouldn't have been on.

Well...Nissin is already popular in Asia so they dont need ti photoshopped every angle of their connercials...DUH!
Snobby designers. What do they know about marketing? Everyone would buy this in an instant and obviously not for the product. Let's show those alien bastards who knows how to live.
