I’m a travel photography professional from the Netherlands. I used to get bored when I came home. Usually going to spectacular cities or beautiful nature, I couldn’t really appreciate the simple things in my own country.
The Netherlands is pretty basic. We do not have high mountains, nor do we have high skyscrapers. Our land is totally flat, our buildings are not high, and locals might think Dutch landscapes are quite boring to capture compared to the scenery in other amazing countries. But there’s a lot of places to see in the Netherlands. Like any other country, we also have things that are unique. Think of windmills and our endless flower fields. I found ways to appreciate photography in my own country and tried to capture it in beautiful photos. This is the photo series I captured over a period of around one year.
I often get jealous messages on my Facebook about people that say they want to live in my country to make these beautiful travel photos. When I ask where are they from, it’s usually from countries like India or Myanmar. I am literally stunned. These places have so much incredible nature and tourist attractions waiting to be captured. Especially as locals, these people have endless possibilities! That’s what I am trying to show here. Do not get discouraged and think your own country is ‘boring.’ It’s not! Every country has unique places. Try to find your local beauty, go out, explore!

I have traveled around quite a bit.. one of the most beautiful things I ever saw a field of tulips.. the rows of incredibly stunning colors of tulips. I wish I could live therd
Dit zijn hyacinten... ;) These are hyacinths... ;)
Load More Replies...Never said they weren't. Just relating an experience i had.....
Load More Replies...These rows of multiple colored hyacinths are unexpected as most think only tulips are grown in the Netherlands
Going back to my home country in a few days! Can you imagine I am looking forward to seeing this kind of beauty?
Cant wait to be there next week, and have a chance to go see those beautiful feasts for the eye!

Can only imagine the intense but lovely scent of a field of Hyacinth flowers. Would love to know where this is located.
Glow in the dark street markings are being experimented in some parts of Europe. Very cool
Is this real?! Surely it's not real! What, it is...? Well... humans do the strangest thing and they become beautiful when people stop to appreciate them
Kan you even imagine such sigt? Thats something els than the 10 tulips in a bunch fot 12 $ at the supermarket! Oh, I am going to put my whole little house full in a few days! The smell and colors will intoxicate me, and Ill be SO happy!
Omg... you can see the other 8 realms from here! (Anyone who know about Thor/ Norse mythology?)
The Zaanse Schans, you can see the (absurd expensive) cheese shop....

This is in Amsterdam. When i was at the Univerity of A'dam i had a seasonal job as a guide for Americans And this is how Amsterdam City looks like at night
Place called Marken. I believe these structures are there to break the ice when it is pushed towards the land to protect the houses near the lake.
Seeing these amazing shots makes me appreciate the planet we live in.
My beloved Amstel river :) Pass by here weekly for years, yet I cannot get enough of it and I believe I never will.
Lovely photos. Holland is a country with much to offer, yet people only think of Amsterdam...
Holland is not a country, it's name of two province (South Holland and North Holland). Netherlands is the country :)
Load More Replies...Your photos are most stunning, warm and romantic I have seen about Holland ever :) Congratulations for such gentle capturing THE mood!!!!
Nederland power!!! Nederland is inderdaad het coolste land van de wereld en natuurlijk het mooiste land!!
Most of the pictures are overly processed. In reality, the Netherlands sky is grey and cloudy for most part of the year.
Even so, we don't really mind, just so staggering beauty.
Load More Replies...Prachtige foto's. Helaas alleen geen plaatsnamen, beetje jammer.
Pictures are beautiful, but as a Nederlander myself, definitely don't see 20 reasons to go to Holland!
Love every one of them! I lived in Amsterdam and Uithoorn from age 2 to 12 and still remember their beautiful landscaping with a unique touch of colors everywhere you go. I Google mapped the complex where we lived, on Constantijn Huygenslaan, in Uithoorn and it's still standing. I'm seriously thinking of going back for a visit especially after seeing your amazing shots :)
