The Passage of Time Shown in Layered Collages by Fong Qi Wei

In his time lapse series called ‘Time is a Dimension’, Singapore-based photographer Fong Qi Wei doesn’t use a typical long exposure trick. He captures the passing time by layering different photos of the same spot with clear edge lines of each frame. Each collage is digitally cut and created from pictures Fong takes within 2 to to 4 hours.

Meet Rhiannon: a self-taught chef from Australia, whose cross-sectional photos of planet cakes have gone viral on the Internet within a couple of weeks. A 25-year-old Zoology graduate from Australia bakes cakes that are scientifically accurate and portray all the layers within Jupiter and Earth. In her recipes, mudcake becomes Jupiter’s theoretical rock/ice core, almond butter serves as the liquid metallic hydrogen, and colored vanilla is used to imitate the liquid molecular hydrogen.

Chinese Man Tries to Smuggle A Turtle Disguised As A Hamburger On A Plane

A Chinese man, named Li, became a celebrity after he tried to smuggle his pet turtle disguised as a hamburger on a plane on July 29. Flight 345 to Beijing, however, left without the turtle, as the airport security didn’t fall the the trick. As Li casually tried to board his flight, the security guards got curious about the X-ray machine’s readings of Li’s luggage. The innocent KFC hamburger looked nothing but odd, as it clearly had limbs…

Crocheting Artist Yarn Bombs An Entire Locomotive in Poland

Yarnbombing has been gaining momentum as a form of street art all over the world, but Polish crocheting artist Olek demonstrates what a real challenge is: in mid July she crocheted an entire locomotive in Lodz, Poland, that will be on display through August 19th. This is by far the largest project this New York-based artist has completed. It took Olek and her four assistants 2 days of round the clock work to finish the installation.
