These days most transactions between people take place online, with things like mobilepay, bank transfers and PayPal making life easier for all of us. Its pretty hard to mess it up and send money to the wrong person this way, but, as this guy proved, it can happen. If it ever does happen to you, he has given us a perfect example of how NOT to deal with it.

The guy in question is John Woodwork, the former boss of Imgur user Shhwing, AKA Stephen. “I did woodwork for him, aging wood and turning the wood into shelves,” Stephen told Bored Panda. “The reason I left was because he never turned on the ventilation to save money, so there was always sawdust in the air that I was breathing in. He only provided a paper face mask and I started to have respiratory issues.”

Stephen was out with a friend when he received a text from John, informing him that $294 was accidentally deposited in his PayPal account. John was polite in the beginning, but as soon as there was a slight hitch his true colors shone through!

As Stephen so succinctly put it, “lack of planning on your part does not make an emergency on my part.” Scroll down to marvel at John’s meltdown, which some people have pointed out may well have been part of a scam to make Stephen pay twice. He doesn’t think so though. “I don’t think he was trying to scam me, he didn’t seem like that type of person,” he told us. “I haven’t spoken with him since, I blocked his phone number because there’s no reason I’ll ever need to speak to him again/be bothered by him again.”

Stephen now has a new job as a research coordinator, and has a much better work environment. “I have multiple new bosses here and they are all very cool,” he told Bored Panda. “They’re always teaching me new things daily and are willing to help when I’m struggling.”
