My wife and I quit our jobs 5 months ago and have been on the road since then. Northern Lights has been on our bucket list for a while and we finally checked it off in Alaska. Yes, Alaska!
Coming from Sydney, we don’t do cold weather very well. Actually freezing weather! Alaska was very cold, but we enjoyed it nevertheless. It is one of the prettiest places we have been to.
Alaska has its own character. It is a rough land with extreme weather, but we went prepared, with our gear and right attitude, and loved every second of it. Late sunrise, early sunset, lots of snow and icy roads. It was brilliant. Something we have never experienced!
We got really lucky with Northern Lights too. We managed to see them twice and here are some highlights.
