I paint cats in both anthropomorphic and more natural poses, in a naive self-taught style of glazed oil painting that I have developed over a period of about 20 years.
Bringing my tuxedo cat Charlie and his friends to life and sharing with other animal lovers is a dream come true. To me, we’re all animals, and there’s no better way to recognize our natural humanity than by presenting us as more simple creatures than we see ourselves.

Charlie comes from a long line of great felines
He starts each day with a cup of catnip tea and the Daily Mews
Then it’s off to work!
Busy day of meetings in the city keeps him on his toes
Sometimes he has lunch with a friend at the Catland Diner
Other days he has sushi
On very special occasions perhaps a French bistro
In the evening he might go to the theater with friends
Or play with his band at the Catland Club
If he’s really lucky, there might be a date with a pretty girl
Sometimes Charlie goes on exciting adventures
Though more often he stays at home and takes care of mundane household tasks (just like the rest of us!)
No matter what, Charlie’s day always ends with a little reading in bed
