Entitled Mom Bullies Tutor To Teach Daughter French For $5/h, Shows Her True Colors When She Hears The Answer
When someone’s doing you a favor, you make sure they feel their effort is appreciated, right? Well, not if you want to sound like an entitled tool and infuriate everyone. When translator and tutor Anna Noblesse agreed to help her boss, she didn’t know what she was getting herself into. Anna’s boss introduced her to a woman who was searching for a private French tutor for her daughter. As a gesture of her good will, Anna offered the woman a 20% discount. But that wasn’t enough. She started bullying Anna into working 10 times cheaper than her normal rate and used every dirty trick she could think of, including blackmail. Her arguments were so ridiculous, Anna even decided to share the conversation online. Scroll down to check out the exchange that has already angered all of reddit, and let us think what you think of it in the comments.

Load More Replies...Fun fact: a lot of russians used to speak french in the 18th century. The "nobility" thought it elevated them above the "common" folk.
French was also used in many other countries when people were discussing with the foreign visitors like diplomats. Later the 'international language' was changed to English.
Load More Replies...The boss must've been really embarrassed!! I can only imagine how the next conversation went with his sister.
I don't get it when people just expect others to just freely impart their hard-earned knowledge, often come- by expensive years of training and certification. If you want a professional - be prepared to pay for a professional
if you need an emergency plumber who takes 3 hours to fix your leak - would you expect it for nothing just because he knows your dad? Friends and family may knock off a little but people have a living to earn.
Load More Replies...Sooo... They are going to Paris and cant fork out 40 Dollar for a tutor? Merde!
if she really wants to speak French she'll need to pay a bit more than 40 dollar
Load More Replies...I can't believe people like this actually exist. The entitlement is so strong it burns. I'm a native French speaker and I took Russian lessons in college. French and Russian are actually quite similar on many aspects. They both use declinations. If anything Russian is way more complicated than French. This person should be grateful to have such an highly educated person to teach her child. The conversation with the boss must have been very interesting.
It's the alphabet that kills me. Cyrillic is a nightmare. However, I have to say that English is a nasty language to learn from scratch. It's derived from...everywhere, the rules all have exceptions and pronunciation varies according to seemingly incomprehensible reasons that even native English speakers can't explain.
Load More Replies...Thats insanely rude to offer $5 and try to use the boss as a threat. What a crappy person
Not to mention she offered "word of mouth" to build a customer pool. Anna obviously has s full time job, so why would she be interested in recommendstions?
Load More Replies...$5 an hour doesn't even come close to minimum wage, let alone pay for an uncommon skill.
Just another story about a mudhead that wants a professional service without paying a reasonable fee. I just wonder why the conversation took so long. She could have told this slushpuppy : "40 dollars per hour or the conversation ends here and now. Yes or no. "
This, but say "Da or nyet" instead of "Yes or no." Simply to annoy the rude lady with that "harsh sounding Russian" :D
Load More Replies...So, learning French is so important that she won't even start by offering to pay minimum wage? I also say, 'Nyet.'
Why do people have these types of conversations over texting? That, to me, seems completely dumbfounding. Why not pick up the phone and talk to the person? Additionally, as soon as someone lowballs you the very first time, politely thank them and say it doesn't seem like this will work out and I am not interested in the job. Why continue to have a conversation with someone who is clearly an idiot.
Hope her french is better than her english. "Fluent" does not mean correct, and her english is pretty bad. I mean, better than my russian :) but not tutorial-level, I would say. (I speak 4 languages fluently but would only tutor one of those because it is my native tongue)
40 is actually kind of a lot. For test prep tutoring maybe not, but for language lessons it's on the high side. I'm bilingual and have given languages in both languages and the most I ever charged was 30.
They might be in an area with a high cost of living

This is a private matter that I nor anyone outside of this have anything to do with. I don't like this witch hunt mentality and trend that's developing online.
Credit Peter the Great when he decided to adopt western european culture and architecture and French, the language of diplomacy at the time, in order to rid Russia its crude stone age image.
This isn't new. It's always been like this. We're just hearing about it now.
Load More Replies...It's a reference to an old song. 'You say potayto, I say potahto, you say tomayto, I say tomahto, potayto, potahto, tomayto, tomahto, let's call the whole thing off!'

That woman was so repulsive. 5 dollars an hour is not even minimum wage. Paying a private tutor anything less than 25 an hour is outrageous. You are paying a TEACHER. To teach something that you yourself do not know. Have some respect.
That is entitlement 101 and extortion (advanced lessons) using the "boss". I'm astounded at the passive aggressiveness of the entitled woman. Her lack of worldliness is troubling. She's going to have a hell of a time in Paris. They don't even pretend to put up with her low behavior. I really can't stand people like that. Reminds me of grade school: "Do you know who I am?" "Do you know who my father is?" Really sickening.
Sure, I'll tutor your kid in French for $5/hr---in 1933. So fire up your time machine, b***h.
I wonder how much she offered the airline to fly the family to Paris?
Beautiful story, and, as matter of fact, not so unusual. I'm also fluent in a couple of languages (English being one of them), but I remember now one of my friends' mother, Romanian, teaching French at Sorbonne! Yes, you've got it right, a Romanian teaching French at Sorbonne. So what's so strange about a Russian teaching French, or one of my friends, Colombian, teaching Chinese? In our days' global village everything is possible.
That woman sounds like a nightmare. $5/hour? I wouldn't have been as polite as the tutor, the consequences be damned...........
This seems so scripted and fake. I'm glad we all got played by two 15 yr old girls texting back and forth hoping this would blow up on the internet.
F****d with the wrong Russian, this 1-brain-cell monolingual did! I cant believe she felt she could force this girl to tutor her daughter! And F**K YOU for being so rude about how the word NYET sounds! Russophobic b***h!
Anna can hold a near perfect conversation in English, even though she's Russian. The sister didn't have sense enough to see how talented Anna was!
What a nasty b***h! And the worst part is that Shea rearing a child, who will grow up believing it's OK to think like her and treat people like c**p. She was way too nice. I would have told her tongo EFF herself in French and Russian.
Nyet lol She did the right thing...me on the other hand .i would have made a trip to her house and cursed her out
You dodged a bullet there. I’m aging if she agreed to the price . Omg . You would forever be her b***h
I taught conversational English in Russia one summer. Students there mostly learned English or German but French was pretty common, too.
I'm sure her French is excellent, but her English is kinda poor. And before anyone jumps, no, English is not my first language either.
Well, that's ok, she's paid to teach french, not english. (Not trying to be rude)
Load More Replies...I wish we could get the end of the story - whether she got fired and proved the boss was a d**k, or he stood up for her.
The end of the story is at the end of the article. She posts a comment about what happened with her boss.
Load More Replies...All they're proving is the the word "jerk" is gender neutral.
