25-year-old Brooke DiDonato studied photojournalism in college but found she wasn’t happy with the work she created. Her creativity blossomed when she started a 365 project, making a new creative image every day for a year. “Most of the photos weren’t very good to be honest. But practicing every day is the best thing I ever did for my photography to date.”

What’s emerged from this project is a unique style that is just as provocative as it is mind-bending. DiDonato’s work features a mix of minimal aesthetics and pastel-like patterns that draw you in. And you never truly know what’s going on.

DiDonato grew up in Ohio, but moved to New York City. She currently lives somewhere in Brooklyn.
