This hydroelectric power station is one of the most important industrial archeology monuments in the district. Built in 1911 in a unique V-shape. At the end of the 1930s the power planthad an average annual output of 191 million kWh. During the end of WW II, the plant was everely damaged by the explosions caused by German army soldiers who were about to retreat to northern Italy.
The operative life of the power plant ended at the beginning of the seventies. It was the beginning of the decades of abandonment and degradation, aggravated in the last period by a never-ending removal of parts of machinery by copper plunderers who were running undisturbed, given the total absence of surveillance.

Copper plunderers are still rampant to this day. In some ways , with the new home plumbing , I miss the copper. I wonder do you know if it is still used so much in industrial plants ? Your photos are good, but, it shows how much as a nation we waste.
