Elements of pop culture inspire my work, which primarily focuses on the emotional complexity of women.
This is my debut on Boredpanda. I hope my images erase a little of your boredom.

The Sun Will Come Up
The detail within the dress reflects an inner journey. At the bottom there are faces that appear worried and/or judgemental. These reflect her own emotions as well as those of others. As the eye moves toward her face, the worried faces mix with flowers that are fashioned after Dogwood. The Dogwood flower is a symbol of forgiveness. These meander upward until a single rose emerges from her. The lines in her dresses represent levels of her evolution. Her face reflects this journey and her hands hang, almost melting to represent that she is ever changing. The one foot that is visible is solid and sturdy. She is interesting, beautiful and complex. She is going to make it.
They Ride Along
This painting is about what we carry with us. In this woman’s world, she has somehow incorporated craziness that she cannot escape into her style, her voice, her world in a way that works for her. She’s moving along despite what rides along. They complement her and make her who she is.
Big Girls Cry
This piece was emotionally inspired by the Sia song, Big Girls Cry. The piece explores the type of beauty found in the hearts of girls who may identify with Sia’s tune. I suspect that we can all identify with those emotions in some way. If we can find some brand of beauty in even the most lonely or negative times of our lives, we can continue to grow, and hopefully emerge as a better version of ourselves.
