I Captured The Sunrise To Heal My Mind And Soul

The most beautiful part of the day occurs before many people wake up. The lighting of sunrise can be quite magical. On one brisk May morning, I gathered my camping gear and climbed the hill of Calaguas Island in the Philippines. It’s pre-dawn hours as the sky begins to brighten. I made it to the top just before the magic started to happen. After trekking through grasslands and slopes, with side trips to muds and carabaos, who wouldn’t want to start the day with a view of the entire island.

On days like these, I can’t help but think what an incredibly creative God we have, this type of beauty cannot be by chance. I wonder if during these particular soul-healing moments God smiles watching me enjoy His masterpiece. Have you had moments like this? A time when you have to stop, and just be thankful? These opportunities are rare and something to keep.

There is a town. A small fishing village. There are 700 residents on the island. No electricity yet. There are small stores, a school, church, town hall and totally zero cell phone reception. The journey was long, but your sojourn will be rewarded with a real paradise experience and a spectacular sunrise. I really hope that the island will stay as it is for years.
