We Created Glass Jewelry To Depict Female Archetypes

We present you our cooperation between a fine art photographer Karolina Skorek and a glass and jewelry designer Katarzyna Gemborys called Femininities.

The idea behind this photo shoot is to show the jewelry on beautiful bodies, but not in the way to distract viewer from the glass. It pictures the fragile and delicate females are but at the same time how strong and powerful they can be.

Katarzyna`s work represents different archetypes of women. She focuses on attitudes, temperament and types or the roles assigned to them by society, and showing it through the medium of glass jewelry. She emphasizes the beauty of the body, the way it moves and how it positions itself at a given moment. Jewelry objects are created with laboratory glass and blowtorch. Throughout the creative process she examines to what extent it is possible to manipulate the glass. This concept was perfect for Karolina Skorek, whose work focuses on showing female beauty. The main topic of her art is woman and feminity. She aims to show magic in every situation and every person she photographs.

This is main part of Katarzyna`s PhD project at The Eugenius Geppert Academy of Fine Art and Design in Wroclaw, Poland.
