Using a neglected meeting room, the senior staff at Viking Direct enlisted a secret group of employees to build a Westeros-inspired space, as a way of saying thank you for the company’s recent hard work.

Transformed into a recreational games room for the team, the room features lots of references to the hit show, including a three-eyed raven, three golden dragon eggs and even Ned’s head.

The game room before and after

This is where it all began

We started by designing some stained glass windows, based on our favourite moments from the show

The windows were individually made to measure, and printed on acetate to create the stained glass effect

Including the lower sections of the windows, we had 60 panels to go up

Once the windows were up, the walls were covered in crushed velvet

And then to add all of the main features, including a ping pong table, banquet table and cardboard armoury

Then, we made the screening area and started adding a few extra features

Three dragon eggs, made from over 2,500 push pins

Lime shower gel makes a great stand-in for wildfire

An Iron Throne was a must to have

And this is what we turned it into

Then, the room officially became Westeros

We invited staff to have a ball in the new game room

The banquet table even included Ned’s head

The darts board with all important names of the kingdom

The food on offer was enjoyed by all

And everyone got into character
