GoT Fails Once Again By Forgetting That Jaime Doesn’t Have A Hand

GoT Fails Once Again By Forgetting That Jaime Doesn’t Have A Hand

Game of Thrones has recently been under quite an intense spotlight after the latest episodes caused an uproar from fans and the showrunners were criticized for poor handling of plot and writing of the show. If that wasn’t enough for one of the most popular series to ever air on television, just a week ago, people ripped apart one scene of the show where someone seemingly forgot to remove what appears to be a Starbucks cup from the shot. The ridicule about “Dany’s latte” was so severe that it prompted HBO to issue an official statement admitting their mistake.

Well, this week’s episode (spoilers!) didn’t let anyone in the production team catch a breath as people were not only outraged about the plot and character development (or lack of it), but some keen-eyed fans spotted yet another mistake made by the crew of the show.

Game of Thrones fans recently spotted an error in the latest episode

As it is common, every week, HBO releases a series of promotional shots for the show, a handful of spoiler-free ones before the episode airs, and then another bunch afterwards with more juicy details. After the penultimate episode aired, a few new shots were released. One of them showed the emotional reunion of the golden Lannister twins, Cersei and Jaime. Many fans disliked the fact that Jaime returned to his hateful sister-lover to begin with. But this time, the outrage wasn’t about it. Someone was quick to spot that the Kingslayer magically grew his hand back in the promo shot.

Most of the fans still remember the horrifying (and unexpected) scene from season 3 where Jaime loses his sword hand after being captured by Bolton’s man at arms, Locke. After he returns to King’s Landing, Cersei has her brother fitted with a golden arm which he spends the remainder of the series carrying.

Although not as severe an issue as the coffee cup incident, since Jaime’s magically restored hand never made the final cut to the show, it was enough of an error for some fans to have a good laugh at.

Here’s what people had to say about the incident

Omg they already debunked this. Shot was taken by the photographer in between sets before special effects; if you watched the show you'd know this wasn't even an actual second of the scene filmed

I watched it again and it was always a gold hand. This is fake news.

There are a lot of people who work very hard to bring us this top notch entertainment. If once in a while, one of the thousands of things they have to do gets by them, I'm not going to complain. I appreciate all the effort that goes into these episodes. People are getting a bit pedantic about it.

It's six episodes. Without the ads, I'm guessing 6 hours of viewing. How hard is it to have a few people watch it through. The coffee cup would have been pretty darn obvious to anyone paying attention.

Why do people insist on blaming the writing for these mistakes? Do they honestly think somebody writes "long shot of Daenerys with a cup of coffee"? They are mistakes made during a hectic and very complex shoot.

No fault with the hand , its Tyrion Lannister with manicure on one hand hugging Cersei and Jaime from the side.

I guess he listened to Tyrion's advice and took off the golden hand. Probably so he won't get captured again by the Dragon Queen.

That's how GOOD characters die, not the bad ones. I was like: emm.. what? are they dead? like that? Pfff... I was expecting a battle between Arya and Sandor against the Mountain, and in the end both brothers die and Arya chases Cersei and hurt her, and leave her to die alone, slowly. When Jaime finds her Cersei is agonizing and die in his hands... yes, both hands according to this scene.

Shared a womb, shared a bed, shared a grave. - now that's one grandly romaticized severely disfunctional relationship. Anyone else find it odd how the scene was played as pure tragic romance? Juliet and Romeo didn't get it that good. Given than Dany's tipping point seemed to be very tied to her getting shot down by her nephew, I'm starting to wonder if the GoT writers have more lenient views of incest that the rest of us.

I didn't notice the hand while I was watching the bull s**t ending of Cerci. I wanted her to die a slow painful death at the hand of Sansa or Araya. Hell, I was even thinking maybe Jaime was going to go kill her and I would've been ok with that too. But NO we waited all this time to see her get her just desserts and she gets to die in the arms of who she loves? That was utter BS. If next week wasn't the last episode ever coupled with the fact That all of a sudden they made Dany go crazy which she's never been that type..... I would never watch this show again. So irritated.
