A Malaysian visual artist Lim Zhi Wei uses flowers and other objects to make adorable unique illustrations, allowing us to enjoy art in fresh new ways and see ordinary things with different perspectives. Her passion of making illustrations from unconventional materials started when she was looking for a present for her grandmother:
“I wanted to make something specially close to her heart, something she will understand immediately”, says Limzy to Artistic Oddysey, “I thought a rose looks like a girl’s puffy dress. So I pressed some rose petals between books, and made her a bookmark with a girl wearing a rose dress. And she loves it!”
She even creates workshops and teaches how to make illustrations using things you would not have thought of yourself, like sunflower seeds, for example.
Isn’t her work fascinating? Would you dare to paint with Nutella like this?
