My work with acrylic plastic began with assembling laser cut cacti designs. I noticed that the most laser cut works of art often were one dimensional and lacked contour and body.
The cacti were the first designs I made. Their use of flat laser cut pieces assembled with cutouts add body and structure. The fern was the next design to take shape. The fern involves heat bending and adds contour and an element of lightness to the plastic.
I’m currently working on three new plants which use repetition with bending & stretching plastic.
