In hopes of landing my dream job in an Advertising Agency, I quit film-editing career, and took matters into my own hands.

I’ve struggled to get in touch with the agencies HR managers, that’s why I targeted the Executive Creative Directors & Creative Directors by sending them a retro looked mini booklets in order to get their attention in a new and creative way.

I’ve created a list that contains the agencies I want to start my career in like JWT Cairo, FP7/CAI, Impact BBDO, Synergy, Animation, etc.. in order to send them the mini booklets.

Once you receive the mini booklet, you’ll have to visit a specific website that will require the password included in the mini booklet and BAM you’ll be able to access my portfolio.

In late 2014, I quit being a professional film editor and began to work on the mini booklet plan for a direct mailer to promote myself as a Creative Copywriter. Being my first foray into direct mail, I knew that I would need to create something that could stand out amongst the crowd of normal A4 size CVs.

I’m not a Graphic Designer but I’m the one who designed the booklet, printed a lot of draft copies until I found the final version, then I had to cut it into slices, Attached the slices together, And finally, wrapped them with Kraft papers in order to give it the retro look.

It wasn’t clear whether I’d land my dream job or not until I got a call from Synergy Advertising Agency because the Executive Creative Director liked my mini booklet and he’s interested in meeting with me.
