Exo Electric Concept Car – The Car That Everybody Will Drive Soon (hopefully)
Revolutionary city car designed by Mauro Fragiotta and Mark Beccaloni. Plastic exoskeletal structure and drive-by-wire technology could be the fondamental leap for the automotive industry’s future.
Theese are the words of the designers: “We wanted to design an electric city car and rationalize the concept of minimum, so on we decided to design the first naked geodesic car in the world. No other sector like transportation needs more rethinking. We meant to build a lighter, cheaper and safer car. Taking inspiration from Buckminster Fuller’s work, we tried to design a resilent external structure. This ended up in developing a solid exostructure to both keep the occupants’ safety and reducing the number of components. The large number of folds give strength to the whole structure, just like a solid cristalline structure. We imagined the car as a naked plastic moulded exostructure removing all the substructures you would find in a common car. We applied more electronics (already available technologies) reducing the mechanics thanks to an efficient drive-by-wire sistem. We are sure that is the present and not the future.”

Share on Facebookwe frankly believe it is more like a discovery, rather than just a design,so unique in its genre with advantages in aerodynamics (golfball)
