Cat Escapes From High-Security Prison Cell After Getting Caught Smuggling Drugs
This just in—a cat detained at a high-security Sri Lanka prison has escaped! The feline was jailed for allegedly trying to smuggle drugs and cell phone SIM cards. The drug lord was detected by jail intelligence officials this Saturday at Sri Lanka’s main prison—Welikada Prison, police officials report.
Welikada Prison has reported that incidents of people throwing small packets of drugs, phone chargers, and cell phones over the walls have increased in the past few weeks. Whether the narco cat has anything to do with it is still unknown.

Nearly two grams of heroin, two SIM cards, and a memory chip were all found in a small plastic bag that was on the criminal’s neck. However, on Sunday, the cat escaped from a prison room where the police were keeping it. Prison authorities gave no immediate comments on the incident.

The police suspect that the drug traffickers who trained the cat came from the same cartel that used to use an eagle to smuggle drugs. While there is no stipulation for animal arrest in Sri Lanka, law enforcement was hoping that the feline could lead the police to the smugglers’ den, local media reports suggest. Reportedly, the four-legged drug lord escaped from its holding room through a fence when prison guards came in to feed it.

They say dogs are a man's best friend but the cat won't narc and show the cops where the drugs are
Yeah, escaped. You know he bribed those guards. He's in his remote, luxurious cat house now doing high grade catnip and laughing at drug dogs.
It can't go against their trainers, especially if they would harm the cat if it doesn't follow orders

I've seen cats enjoying pain meds of the opiate type ... actually, I think they should have access to it in case it is going towards teh final appointment ... you know, if you can spend one day in pain, or a few days in mindless euphoria, prior to death, what would'ya chose?
