“Whilst I was working at a debt collection agency, my boss checked up on my credit history and then posted my credit history on the canteen noticeboard”

“She bullied me and bullied me until I took sick leave, when I got back I lodged a grievance, she tendered her resignation. I hear she’s working someplace else and bullying someone else…”

“I was a primary school deputy head…..She dragged me into work during the entire summer holiday, when she knew I would need to be at home with my children”

Bullies? Who needs them. Bullies are like a piece of hard, white, chalk being dragged slowly across an old fashioned black-board, till the resulting screech makes you clench your teeth and dig your finger-nails deeper into delicate palms drawing blood. Bullies can be boorish and myopic, they are most certainly repetitive, and it would seem with some within the Labour Party currently, aggressively so.

The members of Labour’s frontbench who tried to make Corbyn see the futility of remaining Labour Leader? Bullies. The guys who castigate Shami Chakrabarti’s report, forgetting her formidable and unflinching leadership of Liberty? Bullies. The person who threw a brick through Angela Eagle’s office window? A bully.

The people who harassed the tiny NEC member leaving her shaking & trembling & frightened enough to need the visible support of an MP during a Channel 4 interview? Utter total dimwitted bullies…One of them even had the effrontery to stand close to the scene of the interview, clutching a placard and in plain sight of TV cameras what a numpty’ish bully! The Corbynista’s getting ready to deselect those MPs who don’t take the view they take of the leadership, bullies everyone.

In fact the Labour Party is becoming so over run by people who think that the way they get their ideas across is to bully someone, that I wonder how they managed to amass half a million members. You see, bullies are dimwitted, shortsighted, unreasonable people who will go to any lengths (even criminal lengths?) to see to it that they hold sway, and that is a pity.

If I’m a single parent mother sick and tired of living in a cramped hostel I need a party that will deign to represent me and get itself elected. If I’m disabled and being messed about by the DWP, I need a party that can represent me and get itself elected. If I am a homeless mentally ill war veteran, I need a party that will care about representing me, and get itself elected. If I am a black person struggling to carve out a present and a future I need a party that will represent me honestly, and get itself elected.

Half a million people have joined the Labour Party for that reason, they’re looking for honest and moral representation from a party preparing to get itself elected. They were desperate enough to join, clicktivists or not, & desperate enough to pay £25.00 to vote for J.C in many cases. The absence of any affordable accommodation for those on a low income, the parlous state of the NHS and the oppressive benefit cuts would make anyone desperate enough to take a chance on a party leader who looks like he stands for social justice.

Given that, no time should be being wasted on folks whose anger carries them along to meetings where they declare their anti-semitic sentiments. If such people had pulled the same stunt at a meeting packed with Muslims training to deal with hate crime? They’d have been kicked out of the Labour Party before they knew what hit them, vice chair of Momentum or not. But the pity of it is that I suspect that the lady will be reprimanded, but otherwise left alone, she is after all, one of the senior activists on #AllLivesMatter and they now appear to carry tremendous clout with the leadership of the party.

Bullies don’t build up an organisation, they either destroy it from the inside out or else the organisation becomes what it has nourished. The Labour Party has drawn half a million souls who are desperately fed up of austerity, it therefore needs to be careful about what it chooses to nourish.
