We all consider ourselves to be pretty good experts on Botox, even if we have never had it before – mainly because we obsessively stalk so many of the celebrities that have anything done. We watch how their bodies respond to the initial treatment, how they feel about it once they have got used to it, and whether they go back for more because they just can’t stop now that they have started. However, after speaking to Dr Howard Katz about his Botox career which has not only spanned decades but continents, and included a fair number of patents for tools and technology that is used within the Botox administration process, we realized that there is a load of stuff about Botox that we had no idea about. How many of these 5 things did you know?

Botox is actually a deadly poison

Not many people realize this, but Botox is actually one of the most deadly poisons that we have ever discovered on this planet. A very small amount could kill you and it has taken several decades of research to ascertain exactly how much is too much – which is why certification of Botox injectors is so demanding, and required before they are allowed anywhere near a patient!

Anyone can receive Botox anywhere

Botox is not like surgery where you have to be near to the consultant that is able to do it: thanks to the wonders of modern technology, it is now possible to receive Botox training over the internet, wherever you are, whoever you are. This has been instrumental in enabling more and more people to be able to train and create a career for themselves.

Botox is used as a cure for migraines

As well as making people look young and beautiful, Botox also has a brilliant side effect when injected into certain parts of a patient’s head; it helps to decrease migraine pain. This is a little known fact unless you have migraines, and then it is a very common treatment plan that is offered by medical teams. Funnily enough, Botox is also used to treat over-sweating, although experts don’t think the two symptoms are related!

Muscle spasms is another reason for Botox

Because Botox relaxes the muscles, it is the perfect treatment option for people who have frequent and painful muscle spasms, either as a medical problem itself or as a symptom of something else. The patient will need to have the Botox injections rather regularly, but it enables them to lead a pretty normal life.

There is such a thing as too much

Alright, perhaps we all knew that one! We have all seen the celebrities that walk around as though they are permanently startled, and let’s be honest, it is not a particularly good look! Instead you want a much softer approach that doesn’t make you appear outraged at everything that a person says to you, which is why less is most definitely more.
