I’m a foraging florist based in the beautiful city of Cape Town. I create flower pressed art, whimsical wedding arrangements, floral installations in homes and retail spaces and spend most of my free time foraging for botanicals in the city suburbs and beyond. I am the girl that stands at your front gate peeking into your lush garden. I am the girl that walks the fynbos landscape and the fields of wildflowers in search of textures and colours, clusters and aromas.

After my foraging expedition, I gather all the greenery on my workbench and start sorting them for my flower press. It’s a therapeutic process that involves musing, playing and assembling.

A few years ago, my husband and I lived in different countries. We would pluck leaves from the trees on our way to our daily destination, press-dry them in books and post them to each other. Since then I have pressed numerous types of botanicals, but never really created anything from it.

In 2015, I started playing around with possible ways to cache and preserve dried plant material and after a few pieces of broken glass, bleeding fingers and framing issues, I finally found a way to assemble and treasure these beautiful organic samples of nature.
