Hey Pandas, What Was The Moment That Changed You From Being Atheist To Becoming Religious?
I was raised a heavy atheist by a woman who had grown up as a rebellious girl in the mormon faith. SHe got interested in evangelical christianity from a co-worker when i was 10 (he ended up being my step father, and i kid you not, this guy is ducking freaky with how normal, and kind, and decent he is). I saw how much happier she was with him, and how she got so happy talking about church. I was used to a very crippled family, with a nutcase of a father, so this new thing felt really unfamiliar. I have a terrible habit of always being paranoid, so I was slow to get into christianity. But I had seen my religion hating mother get up and interpret(in ASl) the worship music with a smile, and decided to become a christian. many years later, I have no regrets. My parents are currently doing this. Married for 7 years in the 90’s, divorced for 20 years, and now getting married again as old people. All the things they used to fight about (money, bad jobs, raising kids) don’t exist anymore. Life is weird.

Design engineers don't engineer things to fail. They engineer things to last a minimum lifespan for a minimum cost. Sometimes we do that job well enough to convince you that it failed on purpose, but the reality is that a failed product will *never* make us look successful at our job. Also, yes. We could have given you a much better product. It just would have cost more than you would be willing to pay.

Not everyone who works in fast food is: - A teenager trying to make some fun money, or trying to save up for school or a car. - "So stupid they couldn't get a real job" - A felon who couldn't get hired anywhere else - Lazy and entitled and "wants $15 an hour to play on their phone all day" Most people who work in fast food are: - Hard working, honest folks who want to be able to pay their bills and take care of their family. - Fed up with you assuming they're too lazy or dumb to get a "real job" Edit: Lmaooo this one really got some people riled up, huh?Show All 5 Upvotes

Hey Pandas, Share Some Disadvantages Of A Dream Job
Teacher here. Kids age 13 - 16 (in Switzerland, similar to High School). Doing it since 23 years. Planning on doing 15 more years until I retire. Wouldn't wanna do anything else. Since it is my dream-job, there's no going elsewhere from here. Every change would feel like a step down for me. And on the other hand: I want to keep my dream job. So I might go the extra mile sometimes to assure I stay where I am, doing some extra work, put in some extra hours. That actually might not be necessary, since we got a great team and two great principals. But still: I wanna show the best of me....

My dad barely graduated a 5+ year college run with an English degree. He wanted a business degree but was declined from the program numerous times. Couldn’t find a job after graduation. Saw a newspaper ad for a concrete gig. Learned how to do the stuff. After a few years on the job, he quit and started his own concrete empire, I don’t know the exact numbers, but from what I know, he pockets at least 2 mil a year. His best advice is: “All you need out of college is a piece of paper, to prove to an employer that you can put in time, effort, and hard work.
