When I read about the 96 ELEPHANTS campaign, by the Wildlife Conservation Society, I knew I wanted to do something to help. 96 Elephants are being killed in Africa EVERY DAY for their ivory, and this campaign is striving to make it stop.
A donation is great, but I thought some way to bring more awareness and reach more people would be even better.
So I started looking through my Elephant photos and sat down to draw, with a camera over my shoulder to film the whole process.
After 25 hours of drawing in graphite and colored pencil, with much challenge and frustration, the drawing was finished! Then I moved on to condensing my 25 hours of film into a 2-minute video!
I want to help bring awareness to the 96 ELEPHANTS campaign with this video and drawing, and I’m also pledging to donate 20% of the proceeds from prints sold of this drawing to the conservation campaign.
Let’s not let Elephants go extinct in our lifetime!
