Being part of a PR company, I get a lot of questions about publicity and visibility in front of potential clients. Although many times the answer is the same (you should make yourself visible any way you can), many don’t settle for just this clue. So they go on, and ask some more detailed questions, like “how should I do that?” or “what is the best way to be visible?” and so on and so forth.
The problem that people don’t actually see, is that they have the opportunity to become visible in very cheap and effective ways.
For example, nobody really gives much thought to the web directories that are in the count of thousands, on the internet. Web directories are the library and the cafeteria of today’s world. It is the meet place of all kinds of people, all kinds of companies, and the fact that most of them are free, make them seem superficial, or even useless. The truth of the matter is that is used wisely, these platforms may pave your way to success.
Having a company means you need to be in charge of everything that moves in and around it. Therefore, when I say use everything you have, you do so. Add a posting on every web directory you can access, and then wait to see what happens.
Do not get me wrong. A single posting is not going to do much for you. But directed in right way, repeated and multiplied on more platforms, will work wonders. Let’s take the simple example of a merchandising company that sells cars. Besides the usual publicity, on the radio, on the TV, aroundthe city banners and everything else, they have the opportunity to add posting on web directories that would help them get in contact with buyers from other places, since the internet is a limitless source of social contact.
Some we directories may practice monthly or entry fees, but some are still free of charge. They allow you to post anything from promotional offers to regular announcements that will catch the eye of the buyer. In return, the web directory gets traffic and you get clients and everyone is happy.
Depending what you sell, you may find on the internet the perfect niche of clients that are really attracted to the things you sell. For example if you sell cars, you get the opportunity to get in direct contact with the virtual buyers that are interested in the kind of cars you sell. Another example, if you sell memorabilia and you run a pawn shop, the internet might be the vast ocean of hungry clients that want everything you have on sale.
Do not underestimate the power of the internet because you may lose some very attractive company. Shouldn’t you be all over the internet, just in case there is a buyer? Even if it is just one, and you didn’t have to pay a pence for him, isn’t it a loss not to be there?
Try the free postings a least for a while, see how your company improves. There is nothing to lose and there is everything to gain. Try it! http://www.fastdeal.ie/
