This poor Pit Bull’s owners had abandoned her in a remote location in a desert area and left her there to die. But she was given a second chance in life when the Los Angeles-based organization Rescue From The Hart called the well-known animal rescue organization Hope For Paws. As it turned out, this scared stranded girl only wanted to find a loving family with lots of love and affection.

Many people misunderstand Pit Bulls. This misconception dates back several years and is slowly starting to change, but people have still a long way to go. Pit Bulls are often associated with dog fighting as well as aggression and it seems that their bad reputation was in part due to the fact that they have a strong build.

Actually, they are very gentle, trusting and loving dogs who are very loyal to their owners. In fact, it seems that many years ago, Pit Bulls were considered Nanny dogs because of their kindness and devotion towards children. They were so popular in the United States that people named them “America’s dog”.

This sweet stranded girl is the perfect example of the Pit Bulls’ gentle and affectionate nature. When Eldad Hagar, Lisa Arturo and Linda Drott reached the area, the poor dog was in a fenced government property they couldn’t access. They tried many times to tame her with food, but she was very wary.

At last, the team successfully captured the scared pooch and brought her to safety. After weeks of struggling to survive, her life was about to change dramatically for the better. The two women decided to name her Bunny. After all that she went through, the lovable pup only wanted to be petted and hugged. Check out the video below to see the whole rescue:

After her rescue, Bunny got really sick and she almost died. But she fought hard and eventually recovered completely. A couple of weeks ago she got adopted and she has finally settled in her forever home. She lives the life she was supposed to live and is surrounded by lots of love and affection.

SevaDog, a non-profit organization specialized in finding compatible forever homes for homeless dogs, was in charge of the adoption. The team did a great job at finding Bunny a loving and trustworthy family that will take care of her the way she is entitled to. You can see in the picture below that she is now very happy with her new family.
