Two years ago Anna adopted a dog, who was healed with the help of the Take Me Home foundation – a hungarian NGO, dedicated its work to help orphaned, wounded and stray dogs – to heal and get adopted.
Bogar (Beetle) got into the Budapest city dog pound, in early 2014. Later, when the foundation organized an Adoption Day, Anna found her and took the timid and scared dog home. Bogar was hard-bitten by the four month lockdown: shrinked to skin and bone, her shiny fur faded and nut sized tumors have developed in her teats. Take Me Home Foundation has given all help for her treatment and recovery, beside spaying her they have taken care of the tumors’ removal as well. Soon after the successful operation Bogar quickly recovered both phisically and mentally, her fur regained its former shine and due to her unfailing appetite her skinny features changed into a more labradorlike rounded belly. In the playground which they frequent, everyone knows her as the dog that never takes her eyes off her owner. That’s how Anna and Bogar watch out for each other for more than two years now.
Bogar’s guileless look has got the attention of the members of the Neopaint Works group who couldn’t ignore the sight of the lovely black dog who walks by their workshop every morning. After the talented young artists learned Bogar’s story, it soon became clear that she could have a role in their next project. Which was to renew a firewall in downtown Budapest, where now there’s a lifesize Bogar watching Anna buying goods in the grocery. As a special gift for them the painting was finished exactly on their two years anniversary.
