I'm Davide Sasso and this is my project titled 'Tokyo Dream Distance' where I tried to capture the surreal beauty of Tokyo city at night with my camera.

Visiting Japan has been a dream of mine since I was a child and I finally managed to fulfill it recently. I've spent about two weeks in Tokyo, but I wish it had been more than that. I visited the main districts and took some stunning pictures there. I mainly photographed the city at night when all the lights come on. I particularly enjoy the rainy days when the lights reflect and create wonderfully beautiful views.

I tried to give my photos that Cyberpunk look that I loved so much in some of my favorite movies, such as "Blade Runner" or "Akira".

I published some of these amazing photos on my social networks and I'm glad people like them a lot.

It was certainly one of the best experiences of my life and I can not wait to repeat it. I surely recommend everyone to visit this beautiful city.

As I've mentioned before, this city at night comes to life and is the perfect time to take some stunning pictures, I love especially when it rains because all the neon lights reflect like never before. I am a big fan of cinema, films like "Enter The Void", "Blade Runner", "Akira", and "Ghost In The Shell". They all have been a great source of inspiration for me. I grew up with these movies and I'm very fond of them, I advise everyone to see them!

I published some of these street photography shots online and I must say that the photos are being greatly appreciated and I’m very happy about this. I would have liked to stay in this beautiful city and explore Japanese culture to take more pictures, but I’m sure I’ll be back one day! With that being said I love photography because it allows you to immortalize a moment in time forever, but also the possibility of creating "new worlds" through new points of view and modern post-production techniques

My journey into photography started around 2015, being a big fan of cinema I actually bought a camera to shoot videos. Eventually, I ended up using the camera just to take pictures, but my dream of making movies is still alive! Before photography, I tried my hand at drawing, as a great manga fan I would have liked that path very much too, but I don't think I am inclined to it.

I have 3 ongoing projects currently. The first is the second part of my "Anime City Pop" photographic series, in which I try to give my shots an anime aesthetic. The second is something new and is always a photographic project. The third is a short film!

All three projects are set in Japan so I need the country to fully reopen to be able to go. Japan is currently not fully reopened, but it is slowly easing the measures taken for Covid so I think it won't be long before I can finally get back there!

Incredible pictures! You captured well! A wonderful city, fantastic. I totally get it! Spent a month living in Shinjuku, next to Kabuki-cho and Golden Gai. What an experience, everything!!
