Nutritionist Advised Woman To Do These 3 Simple Things, And She Lost 150 Pounds
It’s almost universally agreed that losing weight is not an easy task, as it requires discipline, determination, and focus. However, a 37-year-old Amanda “Mandie” Wood found three things that made losing weight so effective, she managed to drop 150 pounds in just about 2 years.
Mandie started her weight-loss transformation in the Fall of 2015, after getting fed up with feeling invisible and tired all the time. At that time the woman weighed 375 pounds and fit size 28. Amanda felt like it was time to change and consulted a nutritionist who helped her balance her diet, by determining appropriate portion sizes, her calorie intake, as well as giving tips to start a healthier diet. “I follow balanced macros, which for me means that I try to ensure I am getting 35 percent of my calories from carbs, 25 percent of my calories from fat, and 40 percent of my calories from protein,” Wood told PopSugar.
The second step was exercise. After a couple unsuccessful attempts at the gym, she ended up getting a personal trainer, which Mandie admits was a great investment. “Now going to the gym is one of my favorite times of the week”.
Amanda says that the key point of her journey was finding balance and setting reasonable goals. “Five pounds is much more manageable than the 200 pounds” she explains. In the end, she encourages people to simply be kind to themselves as no one is perfect, saying: “Just don’t give up”.

37-year-old Amanda “Mandie” Wood weighed 375 in the Fall of 2015
In just 2 years she managed to drop 150 pounds
Feeling tired and invisible, she was determined to make a change
The first rule was to determine appropriate portion sizes and balance her diet
“I am getting 35 percent of my calories from carbs, 25 percent of my calories from fat, and 40 percent of my calories from protein”
The second step involved hiring a personal trainer to learn all the needed exercises
“I have never actually admitted to anyone how heavy I had been”
“Now going to the gym is one of my favorite times of the week”
Amanda says that the third tip is setting small, achievable goals
“Five pounds is much more manageable than the 200 pounds”
“You will have days where you want to give up, where you get off track, or where you struggle…”
“Just don’t give up. Grant yourself grace and get back on track with your next meal or next workout”

Share on FacebookGood for you, Amanda! This is the kind of inspiring story I like to see, rather than the type where overweight people complain about fat shaming and body positive. Being overweight is unhealthy.
It is, but that's still no excuse for fat shaming. Working yourself to death is also unhealthy and we don't harass those people either.
Load More Replies...Thanks BP for actually doing a proper weight loss, non clickbaity post. This girl realized she had a problem, sought proper information, then got to work. Food is 80-90% of the battle. Sensible portions of the right combo of foods plus a bit of gym time and voila, life changed. Awesome.
Great personal archievement, although "Woman Lost 150 Pounds In 2 Years After Her Nutritionist Told Her To Do These 3 Things" sounds like one of the clickbait article headlines...(only "secret" or "long forgotten" is missing.)
The long forgotten tip to getting healthy finally revealed!
Load More Replies...Amazing work that you did! I am also in a weight loss process and boy is it difficult. I applaude your for your hard work and amazing results! Truly inspirationnal!
And I really appreciated that she said it's ok to have a bad day, and to forgive yourself and get back on the program. So true!

Do you have a friend that you can meet at a park for a walk, or at a gym? I've had great success with this answer. I feel that I can't just leave my friend abandoned at the park or gym and if I don't show up, my friend can't do a proper work-out either. (Guilt or motivation, whatever you want to call it, it worked for me.)
Load More Replies...Incredible. She won't have put it all on in 2 years so to lose it in the time shows big determination. Results are worth it though.
Good for her. It isn't so easy for others, though. In the US, not everyone can afford a personal trainer, a gym membership, healthy food, or the biggest luxury of all: time. Fresh produce can be expensive, plus it takes time to prepare: those working two minimum wage jobs daily do not have time. To complicate matters here, the sugar industry and the corn syrup industry have lobbies in Congress, ensuring laws are passed to their benefit. Go to ANY grocery store, and find a pre-packaged product without sugar or corn syrup. It is nearly impossible.
It also helps to change one's thinking about weight -Instead of it being only about beauty, start thinking of weight being crucial for your Health. This is something that I've struggled with for many years (thanks to my other who was very critical of her daughter's appearance....)
Oh thank goodness it’s not another “being obese and diabetic is okay! Forget skinny people!” (I’m fat and I’m saying this) it’s nice to hear a story about a woman who CHANGED from being overweight to fit. And shared her story. :-)
Congratulations Amanda! You did a Fantastic job. AND, you look like a whole different person. Very nice. This took dedication and sticking to it, which a lot of people can't do. YOU DID IT! You, go Girl!
This is inspirational. I'm also a person who have been trying to lose weight and maintain a healthy range but I keep relapsing back to my old lifestyle of being a lazy potato and then resume my healthy lifestyle again when I feel motivated. I ended up being stuck at the same weight, maybe due to my calorie intake per day not reaching my required daily calories (because I actually don't eat that much, I'm just too much of a lazy person)
Congratulations! You look wonderful now. You are an inspiration to many.
I’d like to see pictures of her through the two years that she lost the weight.
So the secret to weight loss is to eat better and exercise? Wow! I would have never guessed! The world will change now that this secret is out.
I'm trying to lose weight but I'm not trying to rush it or do strenuous stuff. I want to lose where my skin catches up if thats possible. She looks older after losing it all.
Depends what is your starting weight... its impossible for this woman's skin to stretch back by itself! And she definitely doesn't look older, her eyes look bigger and brighter and she looks so much more happier!

As a big gal myself (and the whole of my life), in honesty losing weight is the greatest feeling ever, it motivates you to continue to loose all that extra weight, and know how she feels to accomplish what she did. I still eat the way I've always eaten (no special diets) and lost 20kg (44lbs) since march 2016, no exercising only started today with it, but with luck (if you can call it that) was because of gallstones and the removal of it. It changed how I eat during the day, how much I consume and what makes me sick. That doesn't bother me as long as the weight keeps dropping. I'm glad for her, those body shaming big girls doesn't know how much it takes to loose that much fat and how it got there in the first place.
She looks awesome now except for the slight wrinkles on her cheeks. But they would disappear soon, of course, it's just a consequence from the speedy drop of weight. 150 pounds in 2 years is truly a wow. It's not easy to change your habits so easily even with a strong will. It took me a year to loose the extra 9 pounds or so of weight I had and find the appropriate amount of food a day to keep me at 138.
Fat shaming or not, BEING FAT IS UNHEALTHY and unattractive as well. Period. I know so. I am FAT. And trying to reduce. But the first thing is to admit that premise, BEING FAT IS NOT GOOD, for anyone, anywhere, at any moment. And it takes determination to get better. What anybody says does not matter, all one has to do is look right into the mirror - and see reality. And then DO something about it.
Slay!! This girl is KILLIN' IT!! My girl repping my hometown football team. Riders, what's up!
I would now like some of those "fat is beautiful" c**p activist coming to her and telling her that. Kudos to you!
What? Fat people aren't happy and proud of their size? Shocking.
I'm getting tired of these weight loss stories. I want to see a story where the news media praises a person who was never obese.
